Bryan Carson - Handsome Captain

Captain Bryan Carson is here to stay! We are happy to have the expertise and knowledge of Bryan Carson. He has traveled the world over, by sailboat, of course, and has made his home in Rincon. He comes to us at Katarina with over 30,000 miles of offshore experience and years of chartering experience both from Kauai to Costa Rica. He is a USCG certified Master Captain with a love of adventure, and a contagious laugh. He is happy to share his knowledge of the sea with every guest aboard the Katarina.

Captain Bryan is also an author, orator, talented musician and surfer. While in Rincon look for his band, Sugar Train that plays at local bars and restaurants. All his songs are original! Many of the locals around Rincon Puerto Rico consider him a living legend due to the wonderful lifestyle he has created and how he helps those around him meet the same life goals that he perfected long ago.

James Seth-Ward First Mate

James Seth-Ward is 25 and was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. Señor Seth-Ward moved to PR over two years ago with hopes of working on a boat. This is his second season as first mate on board the Katarina. Señor Seth-Ward enjoys fishing, scuba diving, surfing and hockey. He hopes one day to stage a passive mutiny on the Katarina and become Captain (no guests will be injured in the mutiny, as it is fully passive).

James has been known to go above and beyond the call of duty to help guests purely out of the kindess of his own heart. He is a great selfless person both at work and at home with his new bride (2011).

Drew King (“Doo Doo”) has worked with Katarina for the past 4 years. His love for the boat and work involved are obvious to all who come aboard. Drew has a passion for the ocean, and for life in general. His infectious laugh will get you going, even if his pirate jokes don’t! When he isn’t on board the Katarina, he keeps himself busy entertaining guests and locals at the Rock Bottom Bar & Grill, surfing, and enjoying this beautiful corner of the island.

William, Tiffany and Family

Katarina Sail Charters proprietor and U.S. Coast Guard certified Master Captain, William Bonbright has spent most of his life on the ocean. He served for five years as a USCG Captain aboard a local dive charter boat out of Rincón. He is quite familiar with the waters specific to this coastline, as well as the weather patterns. William is also a PADI Scuba Instructor.

Tiffany Barry, also proprietor and First Mate to William, is a PADI Dive master with has many years experience on the ocean. She has served as a local Dive Master and has taught water safety and surfing classes in Rincon and abroad.
