Our Catamaran – The KatarinaA catamaran has twin hulls, which provides great stability and smooth sailing. Our 32′ sailing catamaran comes from the design of John Marples and Jim Brown, and the hard work at Sea island Boat Works in Charlestown, South Carolina. Closely working with Mr. Marples, we customized this catamaran to specifically handle the waters off the coast of Puerto Rico.
Katarina is Coast Guard certified to safely carry eighteen passengers and two crew members. It is fully equipped with all the necessary gear mandated by the United States Coast Guard. She has a head (toilet) for passenger convenience, and ample seating either on the deck, or in the shade under the hard top.
Sailing the Katarina in Rincon is the perfect setting for our boat and our crew. We have a very enthusiastic and knowledgable crew. They are great with kids and adults alike.

The Katarina is a 32ft catamaran made by Sea Island Boat works in South Carolina. Our mast is 36ft and our draft is four feet. We fly a main sail and jib and have a 25hp outboard engine in case the wind dies. The boat is Coast Guard certified for 18 passengers and 2 crew. We carry 20 adult life jackets and normally 10 children’s. The Katarina is also equipped with an EPIRB (emergency position-indicating radio beacon) and a ships head as well(bathroom). The fastest speed we achieved last year was 15knts. Fast for a sailboat our size.
The Marina in Rincon is plagued with problems so we keep the Katarina a short distance from shore on a mooring ball. We use an 18ft Carolina Skiff to transfer guests from the marina beach to the sail boat.
