March has been a fun month on the Katarina….hoards of spring break pirates have been raiding the boat. We have had mutiny, debauchery, and, of course, excellent sailing, snorkeling, and good times! Check out these pirates….

Sailing the Katarina is not just for visitors! Almost half our business comes from the locals out to have a great time and enjoy the coast. Meghan and Tony brought their parents and caught a fish as the sun set. Good times!

Finally the Captain has relinquished his photos from the last week!
We had amazing visibility on our snorkel trips, uninterrupted by waves, then we had a bit of afternoon rain that showered us with rainbows! The best was that we finally caught an edible fish, a nice black-fin tuna, most delicious served sashimi-style.
What a week….more photos to come as we tackle some swell this week.

Crystal Clear Visibility
A great crew of lifeguards from South Bethany Beach Patrol paid a visit to the Katarina. Their buddy, Dave is the first mate, so it made their night to order him around the boat, demanding cocktails and service! Many of them are avid sailors and enjoyed taking the helm. We had superb trade winds and sailed the entire coast of Rincon, even stopping for a swim!

The calm of the sail in a light breeze, rolling with swell was a sharp contrast to the fast pace of Christmas coming. It was a welcome relief to take time to watch the sun set with not a care on our minds but the view.

The Katarina is feeling the NorthEastern breezes….each night has been a beautiful blend of clouds and golden colors. There is nothing quite like a sunset aboard a sailboat.
That’s right, we aren’t closed, dead, shut-down. Sadly, we aren’t sailing right now, but that is because we are upgrading, painting, printing, and getting ready to sail all winter long!! Our beautiful Katarina will be good as new and we will have shirts to sell, drinks (of course) and new fresh recipes!

The adult humpbacks and their calves have been enjoying the spring weather lately before heading up North. We had a few great sightings this week!
